Some Amazing Facts about Cholesterol—Part V

If cholesterol isn’t the bad guy and we don’t need to avoid or limit it, what constitutes a heart-healthy diet?

We want to eat a balance of unprocessed whole foods including:
• Free-range or organic eggs, chicken, beef, turkey, fish
• Raw nuts, seeds and avocados
• Extra virgin olive oil for salads and coconut oil or butter for cooking and/or baking
• Wide variety of fruits and vegetables
• Whole grains including brown rice, whole wheat, oats, etc
• Raw unfiltered honey, Sucanat, Agave, Stevia
• Dairy such as whole milk yogurt, organic raw milk cheeses and cottage cheese
• Drink and cook with pure water
• Avoid low-fat foods and refined sugar

One of the keys to good health is to consistently make wise choices and also maintain a sense of balance in all things. Good nutrition should not become a burden—but something to be enjoyed!
